WHO MUST TAKE THE 2026 REFRESHER?
Every personally certified asbestos inventory expert (ADI), whether or not affiliated with a certification body (CI), must take a refresher every calendar year, starting from the year the personal certificate is obtained.
CONTENT OF THE MANDATORY ASBESTOS EXPERT TRAINING
- Classroom training: theory + practice + e-learning
- 4 days + e-learning; the basic asbestos training must be booked separately
Day 1: theoretical training on the inspection protocol, regulations and asbestos recognition.
Day 2: theory and practice on sampling and safety
Day 3: building construction and air flows + working with the database
Day 4: walkthrough and practical cases in which the theory is applied to concrete situations.
CONTENT OF THE PRELIMINARY BASIC ASBESTOS KNOWLEDGE TRAINING
An asbestos expert draws up the asbestos inventory of the asbestos present in homes, business buildings or in the employer's work zone.
Basic knowledge of asbestos, inventory and the various pieces of legislation is part of the mandatory exam.
Recommended for anyone active as an EPB reporter, in real estate, estate agencies, property sales, property managers, notaries, lawyers, architects, ...
Note: asbestos experts recognised in the Netherlands must also obtain a Belgian personal certificate as an asbestos inventory expert!
