WHAT DOES THIS CONTINUING EDUCATION INTERVISION FOR CONFIDENTIAL COUNSELLORS INCLUDE?
The confidential counsellor is the point of contact within the company for anyone who is not feeling quite well.
He or she is responsible for the well-being policy and psychosocial risks.
To update their knowledge on this, every confidential counsellor is legally required to follow an annual continuing education.
This supervision / intervision is an exchange of experiences between confidential counsellors.
This concerns specific practical cases, always under the guidance of a trainer, prevention advisor psychosocial aspects.
Depending on the topic, this continuing education lasts half a day or a full day.
WHAT DOES A CONFIDENTIAL COUNSELLOR DO?
A confidential counsellor steps in when problems arise that relate to psychosocial risks at work.
Up to 75% of employees have at some point dealt with a conflict in the workplace.
And everyone occasionally experiences work stress or a lack of clarity about their task or responsibilities.
WHAT DOES THE TRAINING OFFER?
In this supervision / intervision participants get the chance to submit, in complete discretion, internal problems to fellow professionals.
When discussing concrete problem situations, we practise the various conversation techniques.
This continuing education is recognised as an official, legally mandatory intervision / supervision for confidential counsellors.
WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?
Appointing a confidential counsellor is not legally required, but when the prevention advisor psychosocial aspects is part of an external service for prevention and protection at work, at least one of the employees must be appointed as confidential counsellor (except if the company has fewer than 20 employees).
From 1 September 2014, every new confidential counsellor must within two years of their appointment compulsorily follow a training of at least 5 days.
To this end, the confidential counsellor follows the training courses to acquire them as well as to improve them, in particular by means of the supervisions referred to in annex I.3-1, B) which at least once a year take place." (Codex book I, title 3)
