If your sector or client does not require this specific diploma, then follow our standard fire fighting with simple extinguishing equipment practical or theory.

The aim of this training is to acquire the skills and knowledge concerning fire safety.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • The participant has followed a demonstrable, adequate specific training in ‘extinguishing with small extinguishing equipment’ of at least ½ day. The exam may be part of this.
  • The participant must be at least 18 years old
  • Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
  • Have a declaration of medical fitness
  • The participant has command of the language of the exams

TARGET GROUP

Every employee who must respond appropriately to an incipient fire in a high-risk environment.

OBJECTIVE

The aim of the training is to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to be able to respond appropriately to an incipient fire.

THEORY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

  • Knowing the content of the safety function: rights and obligations
  • Safety signage relating to fire, explosion and evacuation
  • Basic first-aid measures for burns
  • Basic principles of fire and explosion
  • Different types of fires
  • Small extinguishing equipment: field of application, use and method of deployment
  • Emergency procedures for fire and evacuation

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

  • Carrying out an intervention with small extinguishing equipment on an incipient fire
  • LMRA
  • Following internal emergency procedures

NO WORDS, BUT DEEDS!

  • A full training day lasts 7 hours by default, unless stated otherwise
  • Theoretical introduction (30%) with many practical exercises (70%)
  • Theory exam
  • Practical exam
  • Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA diploma AV-012 Extinguishing with small extinguishing equipment
  • The diploma is personal and states the high-risk task for which the participant passed
  • The diploma is valid for 10 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma

WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?

In accordance with article I.2-21, the employer provides employees with the necessary training concerning the prevention measures referred to in this title. (Codex book III, title 3)
The employer ensures that the fire-fighting service has sufficient resources to fully and efficiently perform its duties (Codex book III, title 3). The employer determines in particular: the specific training needed to acquire these competencies, taking into account the requirements set out in annex 1:
  • The training on intervention in the event of fire includes theoretical and practical elements, including practical exercises in the use of fire protection equipment according to intervention scenarios
  • The training on evacuation of the persons present includes theoretical elements and practical exercises relating to evacuation
  • Refresher courses concerning this training are organised on a regular basis
