ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Experienced or not? Every operator of an earthmoving machine with lifting function is welcome in this training!
- Be at least 18 years old
- Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving license
- Have a declaration of medical fitness
- The participant masters the language of the exams

TARGET GROUP
Every employee who must be able to safely operate an earthmoving machine with lifting function in site conditions.
OBJECTIVE
Learning to work safely and efficiently with an earthmoving machine with lifting function.
ACTIONS, NOT WORDS!
- A full day of training lasts 7 hours by default, unless stated otherwise
- One or more days of tailored practical training
- A lot of experience (1 day) / little experience (2 days) / no experience (3 to 5 days)
- Theory exam + practical exam
- Every successful participant receives the official EXCAVATOR certificate
- The certificate is valid for 5 years and is registered in the Normec Praxis certificate portal
- Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA diploma AV-014: working with an earthmoving machine with lifting function
- The diploma is personal and states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
- The diploma is valid for 5 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma
ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Safety and responsibilities of the excavator operator
- Types of cranes and their applications
- Checklist and basic maintenance
- Load diagram and lifting equipment
- Stability and balance improvement
- Digging, excavating, leveling and filling
PRACTICAL EXERCISES
- Performing the start-up check
- Performing a last minute risk analysis (LMRA)
- Driving technique
- Digging technique: excavating a pit of 2.5 by 2.5 meters and 50 cm deep. At 30 cm depth there is a pipe
- Slinging, maneuvering, rotating and positioning a simple load with an easily determinable center of gravity (concrete element, pipe or rainwater tank) with a chain of maximum 3m long
- Parking and preparing for transport

WHAT DOES THE LAW SAY?
Mobile work equipment with its own drive may only be operated by employees who have received adequate training for the safe operation of this work equipment (Codex book IV, title 3)
Considered a safety function is any workstation where work equipment is used, where motor vehicles, cranes, overhead cranes, lifting devices of any kind are operated (Codex book I, title 4)
The purpose of the safety and health signage is to draw attention, in a quick and easily understandable way, to objects, activities and situations that may cause certain dangers. (Codex book III, title 6, annexes 1-9)
