The training can take place on your premises or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.

The number of training days depends on your experience and competencies.

If you pass, you receive the official IS-010 diploma!

The goal of this training is to open and close leak-tight, effectively and safely, flange connections!

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
  • Have a declaration of medical fitness
  • The participant masters the language of the examinations
  • Normec Praxis pursues an active equal opportunities policy. Our examinations are open to everyone who meets the requirements, regardless of their gender, skin colour or religion
  • Examination regulations available on request for in-company trainings

TARGET GROUP

Experienced or inexperienced flange fitters

GOAL

Learning to open, in an effective and safe manner, using the correct tools, methods, procedures and materials, flange connections and to close them leak-tight and to replace gaskets safely and knowledgeably, this includes among other things:

  • Naming the correct preparation of work on flanges
  • Knowing the specific legislation
  • Applying the safety measures during the work
  • Knowing the various flanges, studbolts and gaskets
  • Recognising, assembling and disassembling installation components
  • Knowing and being able to use tools and work equipment
  • Knowing the correct way of opening and closing various flange connections
  • Knowing and being able to apply the inserting/removing of a spade blank and spectacle blind
  • Being able to achieve a flange connection with a specified tightening torque
  • Being extra vigilant about the risk when opening flanges
  • Removing old gaskets correctly and cleaning the flange faces and checking them for damage (within tolerances)

THEORY ASSESSMENT TERMS

  • Preparing the work
  • Correctly interpreting the rules from the Safety and Health regulations and from VCA
  • Correctly interpreting the safety rules
  • Identifying and naming the various flanges
  • Identifying studbolts, bolts and nuts combinations and naming the correct working method for them
  • Identifying gaskets and naming their applications and manner of use
  • The candidate can recognise the components of the installations with pipelines and name their purpose
  • The candidate can recognise fittings and knows the scope of the work involved in their assembly and disassembly
  • The candidate can describe the work involved in "Bolt tensioning" and “Torquing”
  • The candidate can name the hand tools used when opening and closing a flange connection and knows their correct use
  • The candidate can name the measuring instruments used when opening and closing a flange connection and knows their correct use
  • The candidate can name the correct way of opening a flange connection
  • The candidate can name the correct way of placing/removing a spade flange/restriction orifice
  • The candidate can name the correct way of turning a spectacle blind
  • The candidate can name the correct way of closing a flange connection

PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT TERMS

  • Indicating the specified gaskets, at least 8 out of 10.
  • Disassembling and assembling various flanges and gaskets. All of the following assessment terms and points of attention are evaluated here
  • Assembling the flange and gasket with the specified tightening torque. All assessment terms and points of attention from assignment 2 are evaluated here, and additionally the following assessment terms and points of attention
