Delivery can take place at your location or in one of our partner centres in Flanders.
The duration of the training and examination is set according to the Besacc guidelines.
If you pass the theoretical and practical examination, you receive the official IS-009 diploma!
The aim of this training is to handle effectively and safely personal fall protection in difficult conditions!
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Be at least 18 years old
- Identification possible by means of an identity card, passport or driving licence
- Possess a declaration of medical fitness
- Be in good physical condition
- The participant masters the language of the examinations

TARGET GROUP
Employees who, in the course of their work, must access pylons, building roofs, antennas and other structures. For this work they must protect themselves with personal fall protection (basic climbers).
OBJECTIVE
Acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to handle personal fall protection safely in difficult conditions.

- A full day of training lasts 7 hours by default, unless otherwise stated
- Theoretical introduction with practical exercises
- Theory examination
- Practical examination
- Every successful participant receives the Besacc-VCA diploma IS-009: working with personal fall protection advanced
- The diploma is personal and states the high-risk task for which the participant has passed
- The diploma is valid for 3 years and is registered online at http://besacc.epyc.eu/diploma
THEORY ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Knowing the content of the safety function
- Interpreting and complying with work permits
- General safety rules
- Knowing fall hazards and risks
- Knowing the forces acting on our body, the absorption of a fall
- Differences between “fall protection systems” and “work equipment”
- Aspects of proper anchoring
- Handling of equipment and loads
- The proper use of the anchor point, lanyard, shock absorber, fall arresters, inspection, care and maintenance procedures
- The types of ropes and their lifespan
PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT CRITERIA
- Being able to put on and adjust a harness
- Being able to apply the general safety rules
- Being able to make knots and attachment points
- Being able to carry out the handling of equipment and loads
- Being able to apply the anchor point, lanyard, shock absorber, fall arrester
- Being able to carry out protection on flat roofs
- Being able to bring a victim to a safe condition
- Human safety (possible influence of electromagnetic waves and presence of high-voltage lines)
